neoplasm table
The ICD neoplasm table is a listing of codes that follows the ICD-CM Index of diseases and injuries. The Neoplasm table is ordered into columns. The first column lists the anatomic site or the neoplasm. The following six columns provide codes for malignant primary, malignant secondary, carcinoma (CA) in situ, benign, uncertain behavior, and unspecified behavior for each anatomic site. The following terms wil be useful in understanding the table
1. Topography - description of a region or special part of the body
2. Histology - the study of the cell structures under the microscope
3. Laterality - contains a code speciicity for right or left side
